A CHOIR made up of NHS staff from across the county will perform for the HRH The Princess Royal when she visits Worcester’s new oncology unit.

The Voices For Health choir was formed in May last year and will sing a rendition of ‘You Raise Me Up’, originally sung by Westlife, for Princess Anne when she visits Worcestershire Royal Hospital and their new Worcestershire Oncology Centre on Monday, April 13.

Rev David Southall is the hospital chaplain and runs the choir, he said: “We feel honoured that Voices 4 Health Choir has been invited to sing at the opening of the Worcestershire Oncology Centre in the presence of HRH the Princess Royal.

“I am so proud of our choir and their commitment, passion and dedication. The song we have chosen embodies the support which we all need in trying times.”

The new oncology centre will offer 95 per cent of the county’s radiotherapy treatment which patients would previously have to travel to other county’s for.

The Princess Royal will also visit the hospital’s new Meadow Birth Centre and meet the patients and staff.
