New Worcester scheme to keep family active

Holly Clement 4th Aug, 2024   0

WORCESTER has a new scheme which will keep the whole family active during August.

Summer Quest has tasks to be completed at home and in the community, with prizes to be won.

One challenge takes people around city centre locations including, the Tourist Information Centre, Guildhall, Commandery, Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum and The Hive.

Another challenge is the bug hunt adventure which can be completed at the nearest outdoor space and a bug map.

The scheme is being run by the Worcester District Collaborative – involving Freedom Leisure, Worcester City Council, Onside and Action For Children.

Adele Hodges, freedom leisure’s healthy communities manager for Worcestershire, said: “At Freedom Leisure, we are excited to be working on Summer Quest alongside our partners to highlight free activities throughout the summer holidays.

“This initiative reminds everyone that being socially and physically active doesn’t always cost money.

“Together, we’re making it easier for families to enjoy a fun and healthy summer.”

Each time you complete a challenge there’s a chance to be entered into a prize draw by emailing photos, videos or descriptions of your challenges to [email protected].

Prizes include West Midlands Safari Park passes, a family swim, a game of golf at Mr Mulligans, and Freedom Leisure annual tennis memberships.

Challenge submissions must be made by 13 September and winners will be notified by 30 September.
