New study centre is quiet space for exam revision

STAFF at a Worcester school have opened a new study centre to help pupils prepare for their exams outside school hours.

The brand new centre at Bishop Perowne CE College was opened on Monday, May 16, giving students a quiet space where they can study for their forthcoming exams.

With research indicating working quietly and independently can help to improve academic performance and increase motivation, the centre is particularly important to youngsters who don’t have their own quiet space at home to complete homework and revise.

Headteacher Mark Pollard said: “Our school motto is ‘endeavour forever’, so we want to do everything we can to make sure our students have the means to do the best they possibly can. Our new study centre is part of that.

“At this time of year, it’s essential for our Year 11 students to have somewhere quiet to help them prepare for their exams and I’m certain they’ll be making good use of the new facilities.”

The centre is available to use from 11am to 4pm each day and will be open all day from September.
