New owner for Worcester high street alterations business

Worcester Editorial 12th Jan, 2023   0

A WORCESTER alterations and repair business based on Pump Street is now under new ownership having been taken over by long-serving employee Lucy Ackehurst.

Lucy has taken over from Paul and Dee Meredith and has worked in The Zip Yard for more than three years, working her way up from providing alterations before moving to a managerial role in 2022.

“I’m delighted to be able to share that I’ve officially become the owner of The Zip Yard Worcester,” she said.

“Having worked here for three years, I’ve seen first-hand the value we bring to the Worcester community and the potential we have to serve even more people in the area.

“I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen a piece of clothing transformed by our seamstresses, and seeing the incredible reaction from our customers never gets tiresome.”

The Zip Yard Worcester is open Monday to Saturday and currently employs eight part time seamstresses, all of whom have been kept on from the previous owner
