A POPULAR music library is back up and running again and open for business after relocating to Severn Arts in St John’s.

For the last nine months Worcester Music Library volunteers have been unpacking and re-organising the collection which had been temporarily stored in hundreds of crates spread across a number of sites.

The collection, which has built up over several years includes more than 1,300 pieces of orchestral and chamber music, more than 450 different works of choral music and over 2000 books of Christmas choral music. All of the music is available to loan for up to three months at time.

Volunteer Peter Sheeran, said: “We are very pleased to be properly up and running again and delighted with our new home. Everyone has worked really hard on the reorganisation of the collection, which is vast!

“Now we want to make sure people know about collection and make use of it.

Laura Worsfold, Severn Arts Chief Executive said: “This is a fantastic resource for choirs, schools and performing groups but not enough people know about it. We are keen to work with the Music Library to get the word out that the music is here to be borrowed and to encourage people to look at the collection for Christmas performance inspiration”.
