A MOTHER and daughter have raised more than £650 for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven after both overcoming breast cancer themselves.
Kate Butler, co-founder of fund-raising group Breast Unit Events, and her mum, June Wilcox, collected the cash after a tea and cakes event hosted at June’s house in Fearnhill Heath on Sunday (July 3).
As well as a variety of cakes and tea, guests got involved in a tombola and a tabletop sale.
June said: “We put on this event two years ago and raised over £600 then, and as it was so successful we wanted to do it again.
“We were so touched by people’s generosity and everyone had a really good time.
“We were lucky with the weather too.”
