WORCESTER’S MP Robin Walker took the wraps of a new £500,000 sixth form centre at Christopher Whitehead Language College.
A total of 60 students are among the first Year 12 intake in a move which radically alters the educational landscape in the city.
A-Levels are now being offered at Worcester Sixth Form College alongside two academies, Tudor Grange Academy Worcester and Christopher Whitehead Language College.
During his visit, Mr Walker also faced question time in a session organised by the new intake.
And Worcester’s MP certainly had to think on his feet as he had no preparation time for the questions on education and the current political landscape.
One student described his answers as: “Very articulate and well thought-out, despite having no prep time for the questions.”
As well as taking questions, Mr Walker also spoke candidly about his own A Level choices in History, Politics and Latin and how students can be successful in the future.
Another student said: “He gave us the advice of always pursuing something that we enjoy and to not be surprised if our interests change over time.”
