Motorists advised of technical error at Worcester’s car parking machines

Worcester Editorial 28th Sep, 2022   0

MOTORISTS using Worcester City Council car parks are being advised to pay with cash or by using the RingGo app, while a technical error with its card payment facility is resolved.

A software issue has resulted in delays to processing card payments, meaning a longer delay between customers’ paying for their parking and the money leaving their account.

In some cases this has resulted in several separate payments leaving customers’ accounts all at once.

The issue may have affected anyone who has used a credit or debit card to pay for car parking from August 29, 2022 to date and the council is working with its service provider to ensure the issue is resolved as swiftly as possible.

A Worcester City Council spokesperson said: “We are aware of a delay in processing card payments made at our parking machines and we are working with the service providers to try to discover the full extent of the issue.

“We’d like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this technical error which we are working to resolve.”
