A PRISONER who has gone on the run could be in the city.

Paul Ellis, who is from Hereford, has been recalled to prison by the probation service for breaking the terms of his licence following his release last September, but has a number of connections to Worcester.

The 36-year-old has served time in prison after being convicted of affray and assault last May.

Investigating officer DC Matt Ridgway said: “We are keen to trace Paul Ellis as soon as possible and would ask the public not to approach him if they see him, but to call police.

“Mr Ellis has a number of connections to Hereford and in Worcester.”

“If you have any information regarding his whereabouts, we would urge you to contact us.”

Anyone who sees Mr Ellis should call West Mercia Police by dialling 101.

Alternatively, information can be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
