Medium-sized businesses expected to snap up Nunnery units

Worcester Editorial 22nd Sep, 2019   0

A LEADING developer has begun the build of three high-quality industrial and logistics units, totalling 94,545 sq ft, at its Nunnery Park development.

The units form the final phase of construction at the popular site, which St. Modwen is expanding after obtaining planning permission from Worcester City Council in April. The wider expansion of the 20-acre park is expected to create more than 130 new jobs.

Nunnery Park is already home to several leading businesses including UK Storage Company, Auto Support and Supra UK, as well as amenities such as a Kentucky Fried Chicken, Greene King pub, petrol station and convenience store.

Units of 48,000 sq ft, 19,010 sq ft and 27,525 sq ft will expand the employment-led, mixed-use development’s offer, with the largest warehouse boasting five dock level doors, a 10m haunch height and close to 40 car parking spaces.

With work now underway on the scheme, the new industrial units are expected to be ready for occupation in Spring 2020 and will complement the site’s existing warehousing, trade counter and leisure offerings.

Located broadly equidistant between junctions 6 and 7 of the M5 motorway, the three new units will provide high-quality warehousing and distribution space in a prime location.

James Irwin-Singer, Development Manager at St. Modwen, said: “The popularity of Nunnery Park is down to sustained market demand for strategically located warehousing and industrial space in Worcestershire.

“Developing three further units at a site St. Modwen has continually invested in will allow us to meet the needs of potential occupiers and expand what is already a quality offering.”

Richard Tomlinson, partner at Fisher German and Tesni Thacker, associate at Avison Young, marketing agents for the site, added: “Both Nunnery Park’s excellent variety of amenities and close proximity to the M5 corridor make St. Modwen’s newest units the perfect solution for industrial firms looking to relocate to the area.

“We anticipate strong interest from leading medium-sized businesses and look forward to welcoming prospective tenants to the site.”
