MARTIAL arts students are celebrating after scooping an array of awards at a prestigious end-of-year-ceremony.
Worcestershire Martial Arts, a voluntary community group which was formed to bring together people through the inclusive practice of martial arts, recently held its 2017 ceremony at Ravenmeadow Golf Club, where awards were handed out in Taekwon-Do, Kickboxing and Korean styles.
Sarah Lewis, of Worcester Taekwon-Do, won the ‘Student of the Year’ award, whilst Brian Synnuck, of Droitwich Taekwon-Do, picked up the ‘Most Improved Student of the Year’ award and Joseph Harris, of Worcester Tiny Kwon-Do, won the ‘Tiny Kwon-Do Best Effort’ award.
Others Worcester Taekwon-Do winners included Lisa Perkins, who won ‘Adult Competitor of the Year’ and Kieran Kodgson, who scooped the ‘Junior Competitor of the Year’, while Rois Perkins, of Worcester Tiny Kwon-Do, won ‘Tiny Kwon-Do Competitor of the Year’.
Worcestershire Martial Arts raised nearly £2,000 for Leukaemia Care in 2017 and donated several bags of food to local foodbanks.
