A MAN has been arrested in Worcester after community concerns over suspected drug dealing in the city centre.

A 34-year-old is currently in custody at Worcester Police Station on suspicion of possession of class A drugs and shoplifting.

He was arrested on Tuesday after officers from Proactive CID swooped on an address in Back Lane South.

A quantity of class A drugs and drug paraphernalia were found there, along with suspected stolen retail items.

Det Sgt Kristoffer Stevens of South Worcestershire Proactive CID said: “This arrest follows community concerns about drug dealing.

“We take such concerns very seriously and will always act on information shared with us to keep our streets safe from the harmful impact that drugs have on our city.”
