LITTLE swimmers in their pyjamas raised more than £1,800 for Captain Chaos Challenges with the money being split between Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the Grace Kelly, Childhood Cancer Fund.
The event was held in memory of three-year-old Jack Boaz who swam with Worcestershire-based Puddle Ducks before he was diagnosed with a rare form of leukaemia. He died just 10 weeks later.
Puddle Ducks staff decided to raise funds by hosting a ‘Swim for Jack’ PJ Week to teach the children vital swimming techniques.
Steve Boaz, Jack’s dad who runs Captain Chaos Challenges, said: “Our lives have been shattered forever by losing our beautiful boy.
“We hope the money we raise through Captain Chaos Challenges in Jack’s memory will help towards continued research into treatments for childhood cancers and provide hope for the thousands of children still suffering.”
