CARING members of the Worcester Lions have launched an urgent appeal for storage for the equipment used in their festive actvities.
Over recent years, the group has been fortunate enough to have been offered space at no charge at a number of locations, most recently at a small business park near the centre of Worcester.
However, they were required at short notice to vacate the storage unit that we had been using, a few weeks ago after it was leased out to a commercial customer.
When this has happened previously, the leasing company were able the Lions us another unit on the same site but no further empty units are available.
In the short term, alternative storage has been found, but this is only available until the middle of January as the property concerned is being sold.
As a result, the hunt is on for storage for the club’s equipment starting in mid-January 2017.
What is ideally required is a space about the size of a double car garage or slightly larger within a reasonable distance of the city.
It needs to be easily accessible, secure and weather proof and although there is no need for it to be heated, an electrical supply would be an advantage.
Worcester Lions Club is a charity which prides itself on making every penny count and covers costs solely from membership fees.
Accordingly, they can afford only a very small amount in reimbursement for storage space.
