Join the charity Zumbathon and help make Mike's mole-mapping machine mission a reality

PEOPLE can help Droitwich’s Mike Hull get closer to his legacy wish of providing a mole-mapping machine to help melanoma patients get diagnosed quicker by taking part in a charity Zumbathon.

It is being held at Perdiswell Leisure Centre between 2pm and 4pm on Sunday, (March 13).

Participants are asked for a minimum donation of £8 for the session with instructors Stella Thomas, Khris Gutierrez and Kerry Keenan.

People can also get sponsored by family, friends and work colleagues to further boost their fund-raising.

The last Zumbathon took place on Zoom in June 2020 during the pandemic lockdown.

Mike has been battling his terminal melanoma since 2013 and was told if he had been scanned by the high-tech device it may have been caught a lot sooner with a more positive outcome for him.

The machine would be based at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital so it can be available for everyone in the West Midlands.

It will cost £50,000 and Mike’s fund-raising tally is currently at around £36,700.

The last fund-raising event – an auction and quiz at Droitwich Rugby Club organised by father and son Harold and Matt Colley – generated £2,463.

Mike said: “The way people continue to put their time and effort into fund-raising for this cause astounds me.

“I’d like to thank the companies for donating raffle prizes and everyone for what they’ve done so far – there’s still a way to go but we’re nearing ever closer.”
