YOUNGSTERS and staff at RGS The Grange are celebrating after the Worcester school was named of the first winners of a new category at the Kindfest22 awards.
This year saw the introduction of a Kindness in Education category at the awards which aim to celebrate, inspire and encourage projects related to kindness and compassion in schools.
RGS The Grange’s entry was praised for the range of ideas introduced to encourage the value of kindness throughout the prep school.
These include Kindness Clubs hosted by Kindness Captains, Walk and Talk to discuss any worries with teachers and Flourish and Fly to help develop social skills as well as charitable and environmental enterprises.
Head of RGS The Grange Gareth Hughes accepted the award on behalf of the school alongside teachers Abigail Whitaker and Penny Vaughan.
“We are delighted the school were announced as winners at the Kindness in Education award ceremony,” Mr Hughes said.
“It is our belief pupils flourish in an environment where they feel cared for and listened to.
“We pride ourselves in the warmth of our community in which all our pupils and staff are valued. It is for this reason this award was so gratefully received,” he added.
