Is Natwest down? What we know about online banking, app issues

Worcester Editorial 2nd Dec, 2021   0

NATWEST customers in Worcester may be unable to access their accounts after the bank’s website and phone app went down.

More than 3,000 complaints have already been logged of outages today (Thursday) with more than half reporting problems with the mobile banking app.

Frustrated app users flooded the bank with complaints this morning asking for the issue to be resolved.

One who didn’t wish to be named told the Observer: “It’s typical, I’ve booked the day off to do some Christmas shopping but can’t see if my money went in yesterday.

“I hope it’s fixed soon, I know it’s hardly the most pressing issue at the moment but you come to rely on this app so much.

There seems to be confusion over the outage within the banking giant.

In response to one customer on Twitter, Natwest said: “”We are not aware of any ongoing issues with our mobile app, however thank you for bringing this to our attention we will take a look into this.”

However RBS, which owns Natwest, has responded to some customers on social media, describing ‘an issue with the mobile app and online banking’.

“We are aware of an issue with the the mobile app and online banking and the team are working hard to get this resolved,” a spokesperson tweeted.
