KIND-HEARTED member of a county choir were in fine voice for a concert which raised £8,000 for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven
Five hundred voices were raised in song at the Got 2 Sing concert which was held at the Symphony Hall in Birmingham.
The choir, formed of amateur singers from around the region performed their ‘One Voice’ concert to an audience of approximately 1,700 people.
Got 2 Sing organise a concert at the venue every two years and on each occasion they select a regional charity which receives all proceeds from the programme and the prize draw as well as kind donations on the evening.
Got 2 Sing’s Musical Director Beth Dunn said: “Since Got 2 Sing launched in 2011, we have raised in excess of £100,000 for regional charities.
“Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven is a cause close to our hearts and we were delighted to be able to support their amazing work.
“The concert was a sell out and audience and members alike enjoyed a variety of contemporary songs followed by a flag waving Proms finale complete with enthusiastic audience participation! Huge thanks to all involved.”
Lexi Craigie, fund-raising manager at Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven said: “It has been a real privilege for Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven to be chosen as the beneficiary charity to this spectacular concert.
“What an amazing night and an incredible amount of money raised to allow us to continue the support we provide to those going through breast cancer.”
