A CROWD of more than 400 people marvelled as Dancefest took over Worcester BID’s Pop Up Park with an afternoon of dance.
They brought their Dancefest Picnic to the park, where 100 dancers from their weekly children’s classes and youth companies performed dance they’d created throughout the summer term, all based on the theme of games.
Enthralled audiences gathered on blankets and deckchairs around Cathedral Square, brought picnics, and enjoyed a fun afternoon of dance and music for the whole family.
Dancefest’s Clare Wood, who co-ordinated the event, says: “It was such a great day of dance. We shared Cathedral Square with singers from WODYS and it was such a wonderful atmosphere – like a mini festival.
“We’re really grateful to Worcester BID for inviting us to be part of their brilliant pop up park,” she said.
Dancefest will be at Worcester Community Trust’s KidzPlay at the Worcester Show on August 11 and will run their summer camp next week from Monday (July 29) to Friday (August 2).
