How Perry Wood's little litter pickers hope to inspire a prize winning clean-up

YOUNGSTERS at Perry Wood Primary School have joined the calls for Worcester residents to spruce up their neighbourhood and be in with a chance of winning a prize.

Worcester City Council is offering £20 e-vouchers from either National Garden or an eco-home voucher to the first 50 residents, groups, charities and businesses who post photos of themselves out litter picking in the run-up to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Any litter pick must take place in a public space and pictures should be posted on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, including the hashtag #LoveWorcester, by May 31.

Headteacher Suzanne Beston said the school was excited to be taking part.

“Our curriculum ensures all children experience outdoor learning and have time to think about how to improve and protect their environment, always understanding why this is important in our lives,” she said.
