KIND-hearted customers and staff at a supermarket have donated a trolley full of Easter eggs to a city hospice.

Sainsbury’s, in Blackpole, has given 170 Easter eggs to St Richard’s Hospice which provides free specialist care for patients with life-threatening illnesses.

Tina Wright and Chris Weston are employees at the store and too the eggs to St Richard’s staff nurse Hannah Cunliffe to be distributed to patients and their families being supported by the hospice whether they are in the 17 bed centre or receiving care at home.

Each year the hospice, which is an independent charity, helps more than 2,500 people in Worcestershire with its specialist staff on hand 24 hours a day.

Tricia Cavell, St Richard’s Hospice fund-raising director, said, “This was such a generous donation from Sainsbury’s shoppers and staff and will no doubt bring a smile to lots of chocolate fans this Easter. We are very grateful to Sainsbury’s for their fantastic support of St Richard’s and our care.”
