A HOMELESS man has been arrested as murder investigations continue in Worcester.
Detectives launched a murder investigation on Thursday February 26 after a body was discovered in a garage in Surman Street. The body was found as emergency services responded to a report of a fire at the garage at around 6am.
David Jones, aged 34, of no fixed abode in Worcester city centre, has been charged with arson being reckless as to whether life endangered, assault with intent to rob and two counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
The charges relate to incidents at Unity Community Hub on Hill Street in Worcester and on Spring Lane in Worcester, both on Thursday February 26.
Jones has been remanded in custody to appear at Kidderminster Magistrates’ Court today (Monday).
A 34-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released under investigation.
The murder investigation is ongoing.
