Home-bred talents help dogs in need

CITY bred finalists from ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent have organised a dog show to raise money for an animal charity which is close to their hearts.

Pippa Langhorne and her dog, Buddy, made it to the last rounds of the competition with musical ability in 2011, and are now giving back with their Family Fun Fun Charity Dog Show to support Wetnose Animal Aid on Saturday (August 22) at 10.30am at the Event House in Worcester.

The event will include business stalls, a barbecue, licensed bar, fog cup cakes and dog competitions, such as Best Rescue, judged by Hereford and Worcester Rescue and Most Talented Pooch, which will be decided by Pippa and Buddy. The winners will receive rosettes and prizes will be given to the winners.

The day will also be filled with live entertainments with Worcester Operatic and Dramatic Society and a catwalk of dogs and their owners modelling their own clothes.

The charity raises funds to help rescue centres which care for all types of animals. They sell black noses in the ‘Red Nose Day’ spirit in the hope of becoming the animal equivalent of the nationwide fund-raiser.

Pippa said: “In 2012 Buddy and I were invited to an awards ceremony in London with Wetnose Animal Aid where our hearts were truly touched by the work they do and the support from major celebrities who attended, such as Dame Judy Dench to name one.

“We were really taken back by this amazing charity and the work they do for other charities and therefore we would like to raise awareness here in our own city.”
