Hollie’s at The Hive for poems and her latest book

A RENOWNED spoken word poet is set to perform at a Worcester library as part of its ‘Author Spotlight’ series.

Famed poet Hollie McNish will visit The Hive on Thursday, March 23 to perform poems and talk about her latest book, ‘Nobody Told Me’, which is a unique blend of poetry and storytelling taken straight from Holly’s personal diaries.

Hollie is an Arts Foundation fellow in spoken word and was the first poet to record at London’s iconic Abbey Road Studios.

Having garnered more than two million YouTube views for her online poetry performances, Hollie will talk about her experiences from pregnancy to the pre-school drop off.

The event, organised by Worcestershire County Council and Poetry on Loan, is part of The Hive’s Author Spotlight series to host talks in the City each season.

Coun Lucy Hodgson, cabinet member with responsibility for localism and communities, said: “Library staff and customers are all really looking forward to Hollie’s visit and it’s great news for The Hive that we’re able to attract such respected literary figures here to perform.

“I’d encourage people to book tickets as soon as possible for the chance to see one of Britain’s finest poets perform at one of Britain’s finest libraries.”

The event starts at 7.30pm and tickets cost £10 for adults and £5 for students.
