Green Party behind Gorse Hill pavements improvement call

A GREEN PARTY community campaigner has delivered a rallying call for Gorse Hill residents to make their voices heard over the poor state of the area’s pavements.

Heather McNeillis, who has been working in Gorse Hill helping residents address local issues, believes the state of the pavements is a significant problem across the ward.

The committed campaigner handed over a petition at today’s (Thursday) county council meeting after residents said they struggle to get about due to the poor state of the pavements.

“I have had a lady tell me she can’t take her mobility scooter out and another tell me that she is worried about falling,” the campaigner said.

“One gentleman told me he is finding it very difficult to take his wheelchair-bound grandson out, and although he has tried to report it, nothing came of it.

“I have reported certain bad spots with the council but the response has just been they will look at it in the future.

“I have decided that it is time to take action,” the dedicated party member added.
