Goose panto lays golden cheques

Worcester Editorial 25th Apr, 2017   0

CARING members of a Worcester theatre group have donated funds raised from their performance of Mother Goose at the Swan Theatre.

The Kays Theatre Group handed over cheques to two local causes: Sight Concern and the Ian Dymock Memorial Trust.

The cash was raised from raffles held during the show’s run on dedicated nights in honour of the charities.

Representatives from Sight Concern, a local charity supporting blind and partially sighted people to lead independent and fulfilling lives, were on hand to receive £250 from the group.

A cheque for £300 was also handed over to the Ian Dymock Memorial Trust, a cause supporting young people aged between 11 and 18 years of age, living or training within Worcestershire by awarding bursaries or grants to further their training in the disciplines of dance, football or golf.

The trust is particularly special to Kays Theatre Group as Ian Dymock was a very treasured friend to many members and lent a hand behind the scenes at a number of pantos.

He was also the father and guiding light to Paula Dymock, the Dance World Cup Winning Principal of Harlequin Stage School and co-director of Mother Goose.
