Good news for Worcester care home

Worcester Editorial 7th Apr, 2016 Updated: 19th Oct, 2016   0

STAFF and residents at a Worcester care home are celebrating after receiving a ‘good’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Care UK’s Perry Manor Care Home, on Charles Hastings Way, was given the seal of approval by the national care watchdog in a recent unannounced inspection.

The CQC representative found the home’s service – which provides full-time residential, nursing and dementia care – responsive towards people’s health needs and found residents were treated with respect and dignity.

The report also highlighted how residents enjoyed taking part in activities and were able to maintain their own hobbies and interests.

In order to assess service standards at Perry Manor, the CQC’s inspector spoke with team members, residents and visiting relatives, as well as reviewing the records and procedures already in place at the home.

The inspector noted residents felt well cared for and safe and there were also examples where their health had improved due to effective staff practices.

Pushpa Sagoo, home manager at Perry Manor said: “We’re all thrilled to have received a good rating from the CQC. Not only are the CQC’s findings an important benchmark for those looking at future care for loved ones, but they also give existing residents and their families even more confidence in the care services we provide.”
