Glittering prizes at the BID Awards

A HOST of city busineses were honoured for bowling their customers over at the first Worcester BID Awards which were held at Worcestershire County Cricket Club.

The brand-new Worcester BID Awards, delivered by Worcester Business Improvement District, incorporated the sixth customer service assessment awards in Worcester wherein 100 customer service assessments were undertaken on willing businesses in the city centre.

Following mystery shopping exercises and nominations from grateful customers, the highest achieving BID businesses were invited to attend the glittering awards at New Road last Wednesday (November 14).

Parkinson Wright Quality Solicitors were honoured with the Business in the Community award while Bodega Cantina scooped top honours in the Best Use of Social Media category.




The Green Business of the Year title went to the staff at Iapetus Gallery while a further five awards were handed out as a result of the customer service assessments.

Chesters Restaurant on New Street took home the dining award while Arrange My Escape walked away with the Retail Business Visit honours.


Toys and Games of Worcester, Iapetus Gallery and Lush Cosmetics all shared the award for best responses to e-mail enquiries while Anja Potze Fine Jewellery and Scaiff LLP Solicitors dialled up success in the telephone enquiry section. After winning the Green Business of the Year and E-mail Enquiry honours, Chris Marks at Iapetus Gallery said: “We are particularly proud of our environmental ethics – championing hand crafted jewellery, gifts and homeware which does not use or produce plastic waste is a core part of our business and has been for 13 years.

“A big thank you to the Worcester BID team for organising these awards. They hopefully highlight not only the diversity of businesses in Worcester, but also the quality of service the city is proud of.”
