Get creative to join festival’s big Pear Tree project

Worcester Editorial 15th May, 2021   0

FESTIVAL chiefs have taken the wraps off a new project at the heart of this year’s popular event.

The Worcester Festival Pear Tree Project is about community, charity and the environment and comes in two parts.

Creative city residents can download the leaf template from the Worcester Festival website and fill it in with what community and charity means to them.

Organisers also hope residents will create a pear from recycled household materials.

Creations will go on display on a giant tree in Worcester Cathedral for the duration of the Worcester Festival in August.

Festival director Chris Jaeger said: “We are so excited about this year’s project and we hope that lots of people create a leaf or pear (or both) and learn more about community and charity and then environment and how we can all make a difference.

“The project has also been launched to local schools with lessons about the project themes to further engage the community in this brilliant project.”
