Funeral of rugby star Jack to be livestreamed as fund established in his memory

Worcester Editorial 13th Mar, 2022   0

A MEMORIAL fund has been set up to remember an Evesham rugby star ahead of his funeral.

Jack Jeffery , 27, died from injuries he sustained in the process of scoring a try at Berkswell & Balsall last month.

The free-scoring star had just crossed the whitewash for when he was injured in the challenge while scoring. The exact cause of his death is not yet known.

A funeral service will be held at the Vale Crematorium on Friday (March 18) on Evesham Road in Fladbury from 11am.

The service is likely to only have limited standing room available and parking is also limited. As a result it will also be livestreamed at Evesham Rugby Club on Blind Lane.

Since his death, Jack has been honoured on and off the field by rugby fans in Evesham and further afield.

Club chiefs have confirmed Jack’s legacy will be honoured through a fund administered by a group to include the family, Evesham Rugby and independent members, to determine the wishes of the family in due time.

Donations can be made in memory of Jack and instead of flowers, his family have asked for a contribution to the fund to be made.

To make a donation, use the sort code 30-93-11 and account number 07429848.

Any donations should be made with the reference Jack Jeffery
