Former city students latest to get on board for Coach Trip

A FRIENDSHIP forged at the University of Worcester has seen two former students become the latest to hit the road in a popular E4 reality show.

Troy Roscoe and Shaun Pelayo joined Coach Trip: Road to Tenerife last night in the latest adventure for the pair who first met in the city in 2013.

The guys met while working at the city’s JD Sports store soon after Troy began his marketing course in 2013.

Shaun had been studying sports coaching since 2011 and Troy told the Observer they soon became firm friends.

“Before we met, everybody at work kept saying you two need to meet each other as you’re so alike and will get on.”

“And when we met we literally clicked straight away, he’s practically been my best friend ever since. I’ve known him five years now and we’ve been through so much together already I speak to him practically all day every day. He left Uni before me and Uni just was not the same.

The sun-soaked reality show see tourists board the bus in a bid to survive all the way to Tenerife and avoid being kicked off the coach.

“We were excited but anxious before entering the show, because we talk so much and have so much energy all the time, so thought people may find us annoying- but everybody took to us really well and we’ve made some friends for life on the show,” Troy said.

“We made sure we stayed true to ourselves at all times and just enjoyed every moment. Mine and Shaun’s friendship has definitely become even stronger too because I think when you are doing such extreme activities day in day out in paradise, it makes you feel grateful to share the experience and memories with each other.

“We had to help each other through activities during times when we were tired or anxious but our competitive nature pushed us through every activity as neither of us wanted to be the one to back out of an activity.

And the videographer teased fans of some ‘intense moments’ coming up on the show.

“The vote’s are the most intense thing about the coach too, because there’s something about dishing out reasons to people in front of their face, about why you dont want to travel with them anymore, that really takes some guts..

“Especially when things get heated, which viewers will definitely see a few times in the series….”

Coach Trip continues on E4 weekday evenings at 7.30pm.
