A FIRE which broke out in Worcester yesterday morning is being treated as arson, West Mercia Police have confirmed.

The blaze broke out at 12.30am at the property on Sentinel Close in the city.

Significant damage was caused to the three-storey building but, fortunately, no-one was injured.

Officers confirmed they were investigating and urged witnesses or anyone with information to get in touch.

Det Insp Oliver Moore said “I understand that an incident like this and a police presence in the area can cause concern to residents, but I would like to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident.

“I appeal for anybody with any information or somebody who may have seen anything around the time of the incident to get in touch with the police.”

Witnesses or anyone with information should email DC Dudman at [email protected] or call 07811 769500.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
