PUBLIC Health England is urging people to find out their ‘heart age’ after figures revealed there are 50 preventable deaths from heart attack or stroke happening every day across England.
In Worcestershire PHE estimates 76 per cent of the population has a heart age one year older than their actual age while 32 per cent have heart age five years older.
In all 9,297 people die from a heart attack or stroke each year in the West Midlands – of these 946 are in Worcestershire.
The Heart Age Test asks a number of simple physical and lifestyle questions and provides an immediate estimation of someone’s heart age, as well as a prediction of the risk of having a heart attack or stroke by a certain age.
It also gives suggestions on lifestyle changes to help people reduce their heart age.
