Ex-poet laureate bringing literature fun to Worcester show

Worcester Editorial 8th Mar, 2024   0

A NEW youth creativity section will be introduced at this year’s Worcester Show with a former city poet laureate judging one of the categories.

Leena Batchelor, who is the owner of the city’s independent book shop Script Haven, will be judging and sponsoring the literature section of the show, which will take place at Pitchcroft on Sunday, August 11.

This will form part of the show’s all-new youth skills and creativity section for under-18s.

Leena said: “To be in a position to enthral and promote the people of Worcester and collaborate with the myriad vibrant groups bringing us the delights of Worcester Show each summer is a privilege.”

This year’s show will also feature over 180 stalls, free activities, food and drink and live entertainment.

Gardeners, cooks, artists and crafters will be able to check out the schedule of more than 140 competition classes on the show’s website to plan their entries.
