ANCIENT Greeks, Viking warriors and Second World War soldiers will all be brought to life at a special history event this weekend.
The Commandery is hosting Living History in partnership with the Worcester Re-enactors on Saturday and Sunday (February 14 and 15) which will delve into events over the last 2,000 years.
Visitors can experience military drill displays, crafts and vintage vehicles, encampments, fashion throughout the ages and dance displays from 150 re-enactors.
The Royal Headquarters, the final and deciding battle of the English Civil War, is one of the historical buildings being used at the event which is part of the Love Worcester Heritage Festival.
Helen Large, marketing and events manager at Museums Worcestershire, said: : “We are absolutely delighted to be hosting the Living History weekend at The Commandery. It is the perfect setting for 2,000 years of history to come to life.”
A ‘walking bus’ from The Guildhall to The Commandery with a costumed guide, will be held on both days from 11am to 3pm.
Brian Bullock, from Worcester Re-enactors, added: “The Living History event offers the chance to celebrate history in the heart of Worcester. The re-enactors all come along on a voluntary basis, are extremely enthusiastic about the period they portray and have a wealth of knowledge for visitors to tap into. Come along and join in.”
