Enjoying some Victorian value

Worcester Editorial 30th Nov, 2016   0

SHOPPERS and visitors from across the county stepped back in time for Worcester’s popular annual Victorian Christmas Fayre.

Thousands of people flocked to the Faithful City to take a peek at more than 200 stalls and a range of entertainment for all the family to enjoy at the 24th annual show.

Visitors were also able to enjoy traditional roast chestnuts and warm mulled wine, along with jewellery, festive gifts and local arts and crafts.

Stall holders dressed in classic Victorian attire and sold a range of glorious items while street performers showcased their talents among the delicious range of food and drink.

Worcester Mayor, Coun Paul Denham said: “The Victorian Christmas Fayre was exceptionally successful this year – it was the busiest I’ve ever known it.

“The mix of fun and distinctive stalls, brilliant street entertainment and great fair rides for all the family has again proved to be a winner, helping to kick off Worcester’s festive shopping period in fine style.

“I’d like to pay tribute the City Council officers, market operator LSD and everyone involved in making the Fayre such a great success,” he added
