AN ELDERLY woman was pushed to the ground in a late-night attack by a teenager in Ronkswood.

The victim, aged in her 60s, was walking with her partner at the top of Mersey Road just before midnight yesterday (Thursday) when they were confronted by two young teenagers.

The woman was then assaulted by one of the youngsters who pushed her into the road, causing minor injuries which did not require hospital treatment.

Police are now appealing for witnesses who may have been within the area around the time of the attack, or may have any information regarding the person who had committed the assault.

The attacker is described as a white teenager, about 16 or 17-years-old, 5ft 9 inches with a thin build and dark short hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt with a black band around the centre, black jogging bottoms and was riding a matt black BMX bike.

The second teenager was also described as white of the same age, 5ft tall with a thin build and dark short hair. He was wearing all dark clothing also riding a black BMX bike.

It is believed after the attack, the teenagers got back on their bikes and headed towards the top of Ronkswood.

Anyone with any information should call West Mercia Police on 101 or alternatively Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or by visiting their website: www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
