Dementia group is proving popular

Rob George 26th Jan, 2019   0

CITY residents living dementia and their carers are being invited to a Worcester group which is going from strength to strength.

Based at the Lyppard Hub in Warndon Villages, Tea & Support provides a safe, friendly, relaxed environment for people living with dementia and their carers to meet each other, find support, enjoy a chat and activities together.

As well as refreshments and time together, the group has welcomed Freedom Leisure staff who have run gentle exercise activities and seated games and enjoyed a fantastic shared Christmas party with Jungle Jiggle, a baby and toddler music group that also meets at Lyppard Hub.

Hannah Bush, project leader, said: “It has been great to see the group grow and friendships develop since we first met in September.

“As a centre we are keen to meet the needs of the community and are delighted that this group is able to offer some much needed support and friendship for both those living with dementia and their carers and family members.”

The group meets on the second and fourth Tuesday each month from 11.30am to 1pm and is free to attend.
