A DRIVER who left a police officer with a broken foot after running him over on the A449 has been jailed.

Dreece Dayil was sentenced at Worcester Crown Court on Friday (October 22) to a total of 33 months behind bars for five separate offences.

The 25-year-old of All Saints Road, Wolverhampton was also banned from driving for three years plus a further 530 days to reflect the jail sentence imposed. Dayil will face an extended retest before he is allowed legally back on the road.

It follows an incident on the A449 near to junction six of the M5 on September 17 when he was stopped by police.

Dayil was charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving without valid insurance, driving while disqualified, assaulting an emergency worker and obstructing police.
