Couples able to say 'I Do' once again in city venues

Worcester Editorial 12th Jul, 2020   0

COUPLES wishing to marry can now plan with greater certainty, with the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions allowing wedding ceremonies to take place with up to 30 people present.

Worcester’s historic Commandery and sumptuous Guildhall have now re-opened for wedding bookings. Petra Milecova and Paul Bland tied the knot at the Guildhall on Monday, and a further three couples are planning to get married at the venue in August.

The Commandery will host its first wedding, following the relaxation of COVID restrictions, in September. Ceremonies can take place in the sumptuous Great Hall, which features a traditional 15th Century timbered roof, majestic Civil War armour and a minstrel’s gallery.

The Commandery can also hold marriage ceremonies in the Oak Apple Suite – a small, peaceful set of rooms with a picturesque entrance hall where drinks can be served and a comfortable side room overlooking a herb garden.

“We’re very excited to be hosting wedding ceremonies at The Commandery once again; we look forward to welcoming back couples and guests and doing everything we can to make their day incredibly special,” said Helen Large, Commercial Manager for The Commandery.

“We have worked hard to ensure that the venue is fully compliant with COVID regulations and that it will provide a safe, comfortable environment for all involved.”
