County braced for the arrival of Storm Francis

Worcester Editorial 24th Aug, 2020   0

WEATHER warnings are in the place across Worcestershire ahead of the arrival of Storm Francis tomorrow (Tuesday).

Heavy rain and strong winds will sweep from the early hours and during the morning with residents being reminded to stay safe and report damage to the county’s highways teams.

Spells of heavy rain are forecast, and winds are set to get progressively worse during tomorrow morning and afternoon. They will remain strong during tomorrow evening and the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Jon Fraser, Worcestershire County Council Highways said: “With winds set to pick up across Worcestershire in the next few days, it’s really important that we work with our residents to repair any damage as quickly as possible.

“If you spot an issue in your local area, please report it via Worcs Travel on Twitter or by ringing the Highways Control Centre.

“As well as our teams, we will have specialist tree contractors on standby. We will continue to monitor the weather closely and are ready to react to any issues.”
