A TRIO of Worcester community groups are each set to benefit from festive donations, courtesy of Platform Housing Group’s Christmas Kindness campaign.

The Oasis Community Hub in Warndon, St Pauls Church and Perrywood Primary School are all receiving the festive cash as part of the social landlords’ ongoing commitment to help create strong and successful communities.

So far Platform has donated over £27,000 to local community groups and charities up and down the country. The cash will help make sure vulnerable local families who may otherwise have gone without, have what they need to make the best of the festive season.

Marion Duffy, Chief Operations Officer at Platform Housing Group said: “ We know that for many, Christmas is a struggle and we want to play our part in alleviating that. We want as many local families as possible to benefit from our donations and to have something to make their Christmas a memorable one.”

Dot Burnett from St Pauls Church which is receiving £2,373 said: “We will be using the kind donation to host a Christmas banquet that brings all groups and neighbours of our City Centre church together. We will be celebrating community cohesion and helping make some of our more vulnerable local residents feel cared for and appreciated. “

Speaking of the donation Suzanne Beston from Perrywood Primary School which has been handed £320 said: “A very big thank you to Platform Housing Group for their seasonal donation. The money will be used to help fund food hampers for local families who are very much in need.”

Oasis Community Hub in Warndon received £1,200 and will be using their donation to help fund food hampers and also toys , for families who otherwise would be unable to afford presents.
