A WORCESTER tennis club has been served up a treat with a £1,000 grant from Persimmon Homes.
Boughton Park Lawn Tennis Club, which has more than 120 members, has received the donation through Persimmon Homes South Midlands’ Community Champions scheme.
The club, part of the Worcester Golf and Country Club, has been organising BBQs and music events to help fund running costs for its newly established junior teams, including starting a junior competition involving local primary schools.
Stephen Howarth, from the club, said: “We are lucky to have a fantastic membership mix from adults who have played for a long time to children having their first taste of tennis.”
