Closure updates on two Worcester Roads

Worcester Editorial 18th Aug, 2023   0

WORCESTER’S Tolladine Road is expected to be open at 8pm tonight after a water pipe burst yesterday- but Sansome Street will be closed from 7am tomorrow to repair a HV cable fault.

Severn Trent said it had expected Tolladine Road to be open by this morning, however, at 11.55am Worcestershire County Council said the burst water main repairs had been completed and it was expected the road would be reinstated this afternoon and reopened at 6pm.

A diversion has been put in place via Sherriff Street to Newtown Road, Midland Road and Shrub Hill Road.

Due to the low bridge high sided vehicles will be diverted via Berkeley Way to the A4440 and London Road.

Now Sansome Street will be closed from 7am tomorrow until Monday, August 21 to allow National Grid staff to complete repair work on the HV cable.

This will result in a diversion via All Saints Road, Deansway, College Street and City Walls Road.

First Worcester said between tomorrow and Monday outbound services for the 34 and 38 buses would be diverted.
