A SUBSTANTIAL amount of Class A drugs, believed to be heroin, were discovered following a police raid in Diglis.

Officers executed a warrant at an address last Wednesday (January 21) and uncovered a package containing the drugs.

A 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and has since been released on bail until Sunday, March 22, while further enquiries are carried out.

Inspector Sarah Corteen from West Mercia Police said: “Drugs can have a hugely detrimental impact on our communities, and will not be tolerated in Worcester.

“This successful operation sends a clear message that we are continuing to crack down on drug offences. We would encourage anyone who has any information about drugs activity to contact police on 101.”

Information can also be passed on anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their website www.crimestoppers-uk.org
