City cafe brews up a tasty total

EMPLOYEES at a Worcester café have been celebrating all things coffee and cake as they helped to raise a tasty sum for charity.

M&S Café secured more than £1,500 for Macmillan Cancer Support after a successful World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event last Friday (September 26).

The day saw staff take part in a best barista bake off, while all others were challenged with the task of baking a giant version of their favourite snack.

The store also held a competition throughout September for children to paint a picture of someone they love, which saw a number of 11-year-olds showcase their artistic skills while raising awareness of Macmillan.

Sam Fitch, coffee shop manager at M&S Worcester, said: “We would like to say a big thank you to all of our customers who came out to support the coffee morning on Friday.

“Lots of tea has been drunk, cake eaten and lots of laughs had. The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning raises money for a truly worthwhile cause, and it has been great fun to once again be a part of it.”
