A NEW COMMUNITY choir for the city will be in fine voice after securing a grant from the National Lottery Community Fund.
Community Boost CIC, with support from the Rev Andy Todd of St Stephen’s Church, has secured the money to hold sessions every Tuesday at Headway’s base on Gregory’s Mill Street from 2pm.
The choir is open to all and Keith Slater, project organiser and the person behind Community Boost said no previous experience is needed for those who wish to make their voices heard.
“This money has allowed us to bring in a recognised and highly experienced choir leader as well as an accompanist for each session,” he said.
“Singing is so good for people, as a range of current research and studies are showing. However above all else if you are singing then you are happy.”
