Choir in the pink to back breast cancer event

Worcester Editorial 5th Nov, 2022   0

WORCESTER’S Got 2 Sing choir have been in the pink to support Breast Cancer Now’s flagship fund-raising event.

Every October, for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, people all over the world show their support for everyone affected by breast cancer. It is a subject close to everyone’s heart with many people having a family or friend, who has been touched by breast cancer.

Choir members wore pink at rehearsals, whilst also donating to the Breast Cancer Now charity raising an impressive £241, and a grand total with their sister Got 2 Sing choirs of just under £1,720.

Choir leader Cathy Hart said: “Breast cancer awareness means a great deal to us at Got 2 Sing. We have heard many personal stories from members about their experience of breast cancer and how joining a choir or singing has brightened up many a dark day and certainly lifted their spirits, so it was important that we honoured national Breast Cancer Awareness Month in whatever way we could.

“The ‘wear it pink’ idea proved to be very successful and great fun at our rehearsal last week. It feels good being able to play a part in raising money to help make life-saving breast cancer research and vital support happen!”

Got 2 Sing Choirs are a group of modern choirs, established in 2011, which span the Midlands. Everyone can attend a free taster – no audition or previous experience is required.

Worcester’s Got 2 Sing choir meets term time every Monday from 7.30pm to 9pm at Woodgreen Evangelical Church on Hastings Drive. Visit www.got2sing.co.uk for more.
