A WORCESTER charity is urging people to take part in a campaign to help support children and their families in the area.
Acorns Children’s Hospice is taking part in Make a Will Month this October, partnering with local law firms who will offer a free will-making service.
Individuals taking part will then be asked to make a voluntary donation towards Acorns vital work.
Whilst providing the free will writing process, law firms will give participants the option of donating £80 to Acorns for a basic single will and £130 for a basic joint will; approximately half the normal price of a will.
Alfie Wright, individual giving manager at Acorns, said: “Make a Will Month is an excellent opportunity to start the will writing process – something that everyone should do, but something that’s very easy to put off.
“With Acorns relying on fundraising to continue, it’s also a really great way to support local children and their families.”
“Whether you decide to leave money to Acorns or not, having a will ensures your wishes are known and acted upon.”
Acorns for the Three Counties is based on Bath Road and offers a network of specialist palliative care and support for babies, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and support for their families.
It costs the charity nearly £10 million every year to continue providing these services and it relies on the generosity of the public for the majority of this amount.
