Chance to take a safe look round the school

Worcester Editorial 30th Mar, 2021   0

BISHOP Perowne CE College has opened its doors for parents of years five and six pupils to book a socially distanced tour.

For parents whose children are approaching secondary school age, the COVID-19 pandemic has meant they have not been able to attend the usual open days and their son or daughter has not had the opportunity to spend a day experiencing life at a secondary school.

The tours will also allow parents the chance to meet new headteacher Jane Price, a former deputy headteacher who rose to the top job at the start of the year.

“We all understand how daunting choosing a secondary school can be, but it has been made more challenging due to the restrictions that came with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic,” she said.

“To us education is more than just exam results, but without being able to attend open days, it is difficult for parents to get a feel for how we balance our rich curriculum with extra-curricular activities to allow students to achieve the best possible outcomes in all areas of school life.

“With so many aspects to consider when choosing the right school, we wanted to find a solution so parents could still visit and learn more about the high expectations and standards we set, and how their child could thrive at Bishop Perowne.
